Inquisitor’s Name:  Vaxus Terrowin Trevelyan

Alternate Name?: (in case of Inquisitor Trevelyan) Vaxus Terrowin Cromwell

Race, Class, & Specialization: Human, Two-handed warrior, Champion

Varric’s Nickname for them: Chipper

Default Tarot Card: The Emperor -  ‘Provider’, protector and defender of his loved ones.

(tarrot card made by ufficiosulretro)

How they are recruited: In the Hinterlands, on the grounds where Templars and Mages fight with each other. He was a Templar recruit but he dropped out due to his inability to fit in. He started training under some old chevalier. After Vax learned about the Conclave, he stopped the training to search for his twin sister Valerin. Since she’s a mage and not a very skilled one she is likely in danger. He hoped to find her in Radcliffe but no such luck. Mages from her former Circle have no infomation about her. When Vax meets the Inquisitor, he’s pretty much without a hope of finding her, having no leads at all. He doesn’t want to go home alone, he won’t be able to look his family in the eyes so he asks if he can join the Inquisiton.

Alternatively, if you didn’t let Vax join before siding either with Mages or Templars there is a chance to do so at the Winter Palaca. He will be sent there by his family. He informs you he still hadn’t found Valerin and that he’s interested in joining your cause. Pointless sitting back in home drives him insane.

Where they are in Skyhold: In the garden, near the empty rooms (he naps there when he’s not needed)

Things they Generally Approve of: Sparing lives, progressing the romance with your LI (he cheers for you), any romantic options (Celene and Briala ruling together, delivering the rose to the grave, giving a romantic speech during wedding ceremony in Val Royeaux), asking Varric to continue writing, siding with Wardens, letting Blackwall stay in the Inquisition, making Cole more human.

Things they Generally Disapprove of: Cruelty.

Mages, Templars, Other?: He approves of both decision. As long as you ally with Mages or Templars, he’s pleased.

Friends in the Inquisition: Sera, Cassandra and Dorian.

Romanceable?: Yes, by all races and genders.

Small side mission: Collecting small trinkets he sends back home. Super unimportant quest. But will make him happy anyway.

Companion quest:

The Inquisitor has an option to promise Vax that they will speak about finding out what happened to Valerin with Leliana. And that could be one of things that has influence on Val’s well being.

if you asked Leliana for help, she will find out where Vax’s sister could be. You travel to the Storm Coast. Depending on some complicated decisions system (ha) you will either find her alive or dead. In both cases, if you gave a high approval, Vax will still want to remain with the Inquisition because he’d like to be there to the end and it’s up to you if you let him stay. If Val is alive you can invite her to the Inquisiton as well.

BANTER

When finding a campsite: What? You’re tired already? Alright, then. Let’s camp here and rest.

When the Inquisitor Falls: Don’t move! I’m coming!

When they are low on Health: I could use some help. Or a new liver.

When they see a Dragon: …It’s bigger than it looked in the book.

Travel Banter with Canon Companions of your choice:

Dorian: Is there anything that bothers you? Vaxus: Pardon? Dorian: I’m just curious if you are always so content with yourself. (if Dorian unromanced) Vaxus: Why shouldn’t I? We are still alive, the weather is nice and I got to spend some time with you. That seems like a perfect day for me. Dorian: …I see. (if Dorian romanced) Vaxus : Why shouldn’t I? We are still alive, the weather is nice and the company is merry. That seems like a perfect day for me. Dorian : Another optimist! (If the Inquisitor is a Trevelyan) Is that a thing back in Free Marches, then? (if romanced) Vaxus : Why shouldn’t I? We are still alive, the weather is nice and (dreamly at the Inquisitor) the view from here is quiet lovely. That seems like a perfect day for me. Dorian : Another optimist! (If the Inquisitor is a Trevelyan) Is that a thing back in Free Marches, then?
Vivienne: Can I ask you a question, darling? Vaxus: Of course lady Vivienne. Vivienne: You are of noble birth,  are you not? I’m curious why won’t you allow our dear Josephine to arrange some quarters for you. Sleeping in the barracks must be very inconvenient. Vaxus: It’s quite alright. I used to share my quarters with others. I have lots of siblings. Vivienne: Please, reconsider this. Or the next thing we know, you will be sleeping in the barn. Blackwall: Not a chance. It’s taken.
Sera: *burps* Cassandra: Would you stop that? Sera: Can’t do. I’m teaching new stuff to the lord V here. See? Like this. *burps* Cassandra: Clearly he’s not interested in- Vaxus: *burps silently* Sera: No! Not like that! From the heart! *burps* Vaxus: *burps* Cassandra: Uhg. Vaxus: They never taught such a things back in home.

(the one below if about Vax being a huge and closet Varric’s fan)

Cassandra: And? Have you read it? Vaxus: Yes! It was amazing! Cassandra: I know! And the part where she – Varric: What are you two talking about? Vaxus: I’ve… borrowed a stategy book from Cassandra. It was was very umm… entartaining? Varric: Ah. Cassandra: (silently and in awe) Smooth.
Iron Bull: Mine is bigger. Vaxus: Not a chance. Have you seen mine? It’s huge. Iron Bull: Maybe in another life, boy. Anyway, size doesn’t really matter if you can’t use it right. Vaxus: Are you trying to offend me? It won’t work you know. I’m quite skilled. Varric: All right I need to carify this. You are talking about your weapons, right?
Vivienne: I’ve sent some letters to my friends from Circles. Perhaps they would have an information about your sister. Vaxus: You - really? That’s… I don’t know how to thank you! Vivienne: Do not thank me yet, my dear. Chances are we won’t learn anything. The times are dreadful.
Solas: Correct me if I’m wrong but I saw you studying a book on magic theory.  Vaxus: Ah, yes. I was reading it. Solas: I never expected you would be interested in such a things.  Vaxus: I used to read a lot about magic. Someone had to help Valerin, you know. Solas: I’m impressed.  Vaxus: Just so you know, I’ve said reading not understanding. I never really got to this part…
Cole: Freckles on her nose, eyes shiny as she smiles. She never wanted any of this. You’ve tried to help her.  Cole: I hope she alright. Vaxus: I hope so too.
(if Vax and Dorian are together) Vaxus: So Dorian, that thing about Tevinter… Is it true? Dorian: And what are you referring to exactly? The bloodmagic? Slavery? Virgin offerings? Vaxus: No, no. Is it true what they say about your opera? Are the actors really using magic during the performance? I’ve heard it’s breathtaking. Dorian: It is quite a show… Perhaps, if you are nice, I will take you there someday.

Friendship?: He will just call you by your name. Or if we are talking about the game - surname. Still more personal than just the title.
